May 16–October 29 at the William F. Winter Archives and History Building. The Freedom Rides: Journey for Change. The exhibit examines the arrival of the Freedom Riders in Jackson, their incarceration at the State Penitentiary at Parchman, and the impact this historic action had on the civil rights movement. Rarely seen footage from the WLBT News Film Collection, a chess set made out of bread at Parchman, and other artifacts and photographs will be on display.
